Our memories are unreliable, the romance of a memory is removed from the reality of our experience, our constant struggle to recreate and re-explain our experiences results in the bastardisation of unexplainable beautiful things. We will always fall short of what we saw, what we felt. However in its clumsiness, its shortcomings, our makings reflect our persistent need to continue doing so.
Theodora is a multidisciplinary emerging artist based in Glasgow, with a Greek/Scottish background. Her practice revolves around subjective relations to culture, social norms, and to our own emotions. Working though “object performance” installations; Theodora’s work explores our ability to collaborate or engage with a previously inert object once it has become animated. Through the context of materials and their history, and in turn their movement, objects are enabled to perform in their own kind of theatre.
